OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report tracker

The MOMR is one of the most underrated free datasets in capital projects. Every month OPEC publishes a full read on world economic activity, oil demand by region and product, supply from every producing country, refining margins, tanker rates and inventory positions — and then states an explicit market outlook. For anyone benchmarking commodity-driven capital programmes, it is a treasure trove: the same macro signals that move the oil balance move contractor demand, labour rates and equipment lead times.

What it covers
World economy, world oil demand, world oil supply, product markets, tanker market, oil trade, commercial stock movements and the balance of supply and demand.
Why it matters here
Demand and price expectations drive FID timing across resources portfolios. The MOMR gives a monthly, auditable read on the assumptions behind those gates.
How to read it
Skip to the "Balance of supply and demand" table first, then read the demand and non-DoC supply revisions. The revisions carry more signal than the absolute numbers.

OPEC crude vs total world liquids supply

Three series taken from the "World Oil Supply" tables of successive Monthly Oil Market Reports: OPEC-12 crude only, the wider Declaration of Cooperation (OPEC+) total liquids, and total world liquids supply. The gap between the OPEC line and the world line is the non-DoC barrel — largely US shale, Brazil, Guyana, Canada and Norway — and it is the single most important structural story in the reports. Quarterly sample points; figures are approximate and later months are subject to MOMR revision.

Report archive & extracted sentiment

Each entry summarises the tone of that edition across four axes — demand, supply, economy and inventories — plus the headline market forecast. Expand a card for the detailed attributes and a link through to the source document. Sentiment tags are our reading of the report, not an OPEC classification.

A note on the numbers

Production series and sentiment summaries on this page are compiled from published OPEC Monthly Oil Market Reports and are approximate. OPEC revises historical supply and demand figures in later editions — always confirm against the source report before using a figure in an estimate or business case.
